These units do not need electric cabling, electricity or batteries and they are very traditional in design.
A Butlers Bell is just a brass bell on a spring. By pulling at the spring, the spring movement causes the bell to ring, and the sound is just the same as all those television period dramas. The 62500 is just the bell unit with the necessary pulleys and cable. This would normally be installed where a bell pull already exists. The Bell Pull 5845P is used with the 62500 to complete the system. The complete kit 62500K includes the the Butlers Bell, pulleys, cable and the Bell Pull.
The Shop Bell 62503 and 62503BN are also a bells on a spring, but the units are screwed to the inside of the shop door and will ring purely due to the door's movement.
The Imperial Doorbells 849, 850 and 851 simply fit to the inside of your front door and give a life-time of maintenance free, reliable service. The doorbell uses a clockwork action, needing only an occasional winding of the dome. They come as a kit with a standard bell push buttons but optional buttons are available. [ Click Here ] These bells give a loud ring, using the door itself as a sounding board, and will continue to ring as long as the bell push button is pressed. Visitors can clearly hear that your doorbell is in working order. There is a thin rod that needs to go through the door to release the clockwork mechanism.
