Friedland have been supplying doorbells for over 50 years, originally from Stockport, Cheshire, but now owned by Honywell and supplied from Basildon in Essex. They supply both Wireless and Wired bells together with all the accessories needed.

Friedland are known for the high quality of their products (reflected in their price) and they offer manufacturer warranties on most products of 3 years. The wireless products come in 3 ranges, - Decor Wall mounted, - Evo Portable and Plug-in Models - Libra+, wall mounted, portable and plug-in models. The Decor and Evo products operate at the 434MHz frequency and will work together. The Libra+ range operate at the new 868MHz less crowded frequency. Apart from the Libra+ Plug-in model D943ew, all doorbells in the Libra+ range can be clipped onto a small bracket (supplied) on a wall, or removed at will, to operate as a battery portable.

All products in all ranges have good quality sound and are normally supplied with between 2 to 7 inbuilt chime sounds. We allow you to sample the sounds on our website when you link to the doorbell specifications of each model. The exception is the traditional, York Tubular chime, where a hammer hits two long vertical tubes which produces a loud pleasant tone. A strong feature of the wireless ranges are the high quality and attractiveness of the bell push buttons. The D510b (brass) and D511c (chrome) pushes offer a traditional look for the Decor and Evo wireless products, and the D932b (brass) and D933c (chrome) pushes give a stylish contemporary look to the Libra+ range.. Within the the Libra+ range there are twin packs where 2 chimes can be rung from a single bell push, and within the Evo and Libra+ range there are chime kits that include a wired to wirefree extender which can be used to link to a traditional wired bell push button, or extend a wired bell system.

There are also Wired Doorbell systems, which in all cases can be powered by either batteries, or connected to the mains via a transformer. The transformer should have an 8va/c output, and supply 1 amp. We supply the model 7770 transformer to suit. All units offer a front door/ back door operation, so that if 2 doorbells are connected to the bell, and different sound can be generated depending on which bell push is pressed (except the York Tubular chime).
